KNOT Delivery Ltd. · Companies Registry: 51-XXXXXXX · knot4israel@gmail.com
1. Acceptance
By using the KNOT platform you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Courier Terms (if applicable). These Terms are governed by Israeli law and any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Tel Aviv–Yafo.
2. Nature of the Service — Important
KNOT is a technology platform that connects senders with independent self-employed couriers (the "Couriers"). KNOT is not a carrier, freight forwarder, postal operator, or insurer. The transport contract for each delivery is formed between the sender and the assigned Courier; KNOT acts as a limited agent for facilitating the order and, where applicable, collecting the fee on the Courier's behalf.
3. Eligibility
Users must be 18 years of age or older, with legal capacity to enter contracts under Israeli Capacity and Guardianship Law 5722-1962.
4. Pricing, Payment, Receipts
- Prices in New Israeli Shekels (₪), including VAT (18% as of 2026) where applicable.
- The full price, including any surge or dynamic-demand multiplier, is shown before you confirm the order.
- A tax invoice (חשבונית מס) will be issued for every paid order in accordance with the Israeli VAT Law 5736-1975 and Tax Ordinance §17.
- Payments are processed by licensed Israeli payment service providers; KNOT does not provide payment services within the meaning of the Payment Services Law 5783-2023.
5. Cancellation & Refunds — Consumer Protection
Per the Israeli Consumer Protection Law 5741-1981 §14C and applicable regulations:
- You may cancel an order at any time before a courier has been assigned, at no charge.
- If a courier has been assigned but has not yet started the pickup leg, a cancellation fee of up to 5% of the order price or ₪100 (whichever is lower) may apply, plus actual courier mobilization cost where documented.
- Once pickup has started, the delivery is considered substantially performed and refunds are limited to documented failure of service.
- Failed deliveries due to KNOT or Courier fault entitle you to a full refund.
6. Cargo Protection Plan (not insurance)
KNOT offers an optional Cargo Protection Plan which is a contractual self-indemnity by KNOT, not regulated insurance under the Insurance Contract Law 5741-1981 or the Supervision of Financial Services (Insurance) Law 5741-1981. Coverage tiers (Basic / Extended / Full) and limits are shown at checkout. Claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery or scheduled delivery, with photo and receipt evidence, via knot4israel@gmail.com.
The Cargo Protection Plan excludes: cash, jewelry above ₪3,000, controlled substances, perishables not declared, items prohibited under §7 below, items damaged due to inadequate packaging by sender, indirect or consequential losses.
7. Prohibited Items
You shall not ship: weapons or ammunition; illegal substances; prescription medications without authorization; hazardous materials per UN ADR classifications; live animals; human remains; cash exceeding ₪10,000; counterfeit goods; items requiring import permits without such permits; lithium batteries not in original packaging; perishable food without proper insulation; items exceeding 30 kg or 120 cm in any dimension. Shipping prohibited items will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement under Israeli law.
8. User Conduct
You agree to provide accurate information, treat Couriers with respect, and not misuse the platform. Harassment, discrimination, or false claims will result in account suspension.
9. Dynamic Pricing & Transparency
Prices may vary by distance, weight, urgency, time of day, weather, and demand. All multipliers are disclosed in the price breakdown at checkout before confirmation, in accordance with §17 of the Consumer Protection Regulations (Information Display) 5772-2012.
10. Reviews
Reviews must be truthful and based on actual experience. Defamatory or false statements may be removed and may expose the reviewer to liability under the Israeli Defamation Law 5725-1965. Courier names shown publicly are first name only.
11. Limitation of Liability
KNOT's aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the higher of (a) the price paid for the affected delivery or (b) the applicable Cargo Protection Plan limit. KNOT is not liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages, except where such limitation is prohibited by Israeli law (including for personal injury or willful misconduct).
12. Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control: severe weather, security incidents, government orders, strikes, or infrastructure failures.
13. Changes
Material changes will be notified 14 days in advance by email and in-app banner. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms with reasonable notice, except where immediate suspension is required for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
Israeli law applies. Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the competent courts of Tel Aviv–Yafo, except where Israeli consumer-protection law mandates a different venue available to the consumer.
